A Sod Farm Built On 80+ Combine Years Of Green-Industry Work

Grants Creek Nursery started out as a small backyard operation by Phil and Jane Croom in 1968. Over the decades, the nursery has grown into a 400 acre property at 763 Grants Creek Road in Jacksonville, and with the added vision of Phillip Jr and Meredith Croom, the Grants Creek Nursery umbrella now covers a full scale landscape division, a landscape maintenance division, and sod farms.

Across 80+ years of combined landscaping experience, the Croom family has built a green industry operation that propagates and grows 95% of its plant material on site. The same approach applies to our sod: grown right here in Jacksonville, on the same land, by the same multi generational family business.

Sod has always been part of what Grants Creek Nursery does. As demand grew, particularly for centipede sod, the turf variety best suited to coastal Carolina conditions, we built out a dedicated sod operation that could deliver consistent quality on the schedule contractors, builders, property management teams, and commercial customers need.

Creekside Sod Farm is the dedicated brand for that operation. The sod is grown on the same 400 acre farm in Jacksonville. The licenses are the same Grants Creek Nursery NC contractor credentials. The team is the same Croom family owned, multi generational local people. The difference is the focus: Creekside Sod Farm exists specifically to deliver fresh cut centipede sod across coastal NC, with the operational rigor a dedicated sod business needs.
